VisitShane van Gisbergen Wins First NASCAR Xfinity Series Race at Portland's Pacific Office Automation 147 on Saturday
Jun 1, 2024, 09:50 PM
Shane van Gisbergen secured his first NASCAR Xfinity Series victory at Portland International Raceway in the Pacific Office Automation 147 on Saturday. The Supercars champion triumphed in a dramatic late-race duel with Justin Allgaier, overcoming a tire rub and a beaten car to clinch the win and lock himself into the playoffs. Earlier in the day, Sam Mayer won the pole position for the Xfinity Series race, narrowly beating Shane van Gisbergen by 0.044 seconds. Mayer, who has been on a hot streak with five top-four finishes in his last six starts, ultimately finished in fourth place. Frankie Muniz, who blew an engine in practice, was the lone DNQ for the event.
