Serbian Police Officer Wounded in Neck, Terrorist Killed in Crossbow Attack at Israeli Embassy

A Serbian police officer was wounded in a crossbow attack outside the Israeli embassy in Belgrade on June 29, 2024. The attacker, identified as Milos Zujovic from Novi Pazar, a Serbian national who had converted to Islam, was shot dead by the officer in self-defense. The incident, described as a terrorist attack by Serbian and Israeli officials, occurred around 11:00 am local time. The police officer, who was shot in the neck, was conscious and undergoing treatment. The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed that the embassy was closed following the attack and no embassy employees were injured. Serbian authorities have raised the terrorism threat level to the highest level and are investigating the involvement of an accomplice who remains at large. Zujovic reportedly pulled his crossbow out of a plastic bag before the attack.
