VisitSerbia Discreetly Boosts €800 Million Ammunition Sales to Ukraine via Western Intermediaries
Jun 22, 2024, 03:13 PM
Serbia has been discreetly increasing its sales of ammunition to Western countries, which subsequently ends up bolstering Ukraine's defense. Despite being one of only two European countries not to join Western sanctions against Russia, Serbia has exported nearly €1 billion worth of ammunition, including mortars, grenade launchers, and rockets for MLRS, to Ukraine through intermediaries since February 2022. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed the accuracy of the €800 million figure cited by various sources, stating that Serbia's contracts with countries such as the USA, Spain, and the Czech Republic are a business opportunity. Vučić emphasized that Serbia is not concerned with the final destination of the ammunition and is not taking sides in the conflict.
