VisitSenators Sign Linus Ullmark to Four-Year, $33M Extension Matching Swayman's $8.25M AAV
Oct 9, 2024, 01:55 PM
The Ottawa Senators have signed goaltender Linus Ullmark to a four-year, $33 million contract extension, with an average annual value of $8.25 million per season. Announced on Wednesday by Senators' president of hockey operations and general manager Steve Staios, the contract includes a full no-movement clause for all four seasons. Ullmark's extension matches the salary given to his former tandem mate Jeremy Swayman by the Boston Bruins. With a .912 save percentage in Buffalo and a .924 save percentage over three years in Boston, Ullmark becomes the NHL's fourth-highest paid goalie next season, alongside Swayman and trailing Sergei Bobrovsky ($10 million), Andrei Vasilevskiy ($9 million), and Connor Hellebuyck ($8.5 million). This extension was a priority for the Senators, securing Ullmark as their goaltender of the future. He will play out his existing contract this year with a $5 million cap hit, resulting in Ullmark being under contract with the Senators for five years at an average of $7.6 million per season.
