VisitSenators Durbin and Cornyn Seek House Ethics Report on Trump's Attorney General Nominee Matt Gaetz
Nov 14, 2024, 04:07 PM
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin is requesting that the House Ethics Committee share its report and all relevant documentation on former Congressman Matt Gaetz with the Senate Judiciary Committee. Durbin stated, "I am calling on the House Ethics Committee to preserve and share their report and all relevant documentation on Mr. Gaetz with the Senate Judiciary Committee." This request comes after President Donald Trump nominated Gaetz to be Attorney General. Republican Senator John Cornyn of Texas also expressed his desire to review the House Ethics Committee's investigation of Gaetz during the confirmation process, stating that there should be "no limitations" on what they can review. When asked if he wants to see the report, Cornyn responded, "Absolutely."
