A Senate investigation led by Senator Bernie Sanders has revealed that Amazon disregarded internal warnings about high injury rates at its warehouses. The report, published by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, found that Amazon's strict production quotas were linked to elevated injury rates among its warehouse employees. Internal company documents show that health and safety personnel recommended relaxing these quotas, but senior executives rejected the advice, prioritizing the company's performance over worker safety. The investigation also highlighted that Amazon's injury rates were nearly twice the industry average, with more than two-thirds of its warehouses exceeding this average. Amazon has disputed the report, claiming it is based on outdated and unverifiable information.
