Senate conservatives, led by Senator JD Vance, are expanding their blockade of President Joe Biden's nominees. This effort, which includes Senators Mike Lee, Bill Hagerty, Roger Marshall, Tommy Tuberville, and Eric Schmitt, aims to halt the confirmation of at least 44 Biden nominees, including judges and U.S. attorneys, until election day. The blockade is a response to what they describe as the administration's weaponization of the judicial system against former President Donald Trump following his conviction. The expanded blockade now includes noncontroversial nominees to boards, commissions, and international organizations. JD Vance, who is on Trump's VP short list, and his colleagues are targeting those who suggested the Trump prosecutions were reasonable.
