VisitSearch Continues for Pennsylvania Grandmother Trapped in 30-Foot Sinkhole While Looking for Cat
Dec 3, 2024, 09:45 PM
A 64-year-old woman named Elizabeth Pollard from Unity Township, Pennsylvania, has gone missing after she went out to search for her missing cat, Pepper, on Monday evening. Authorities believe she may have fallen into a 30-foot-deep sinkhole behind a restaurant in Westmoreland County. The search for Pollard began around 1 a.m. Tuesday when her family reported her missing. A camera captured a shoe inside the sinkhole, suggesting she might be trapped there. State Police and other first responders are currently engaged in a search and rescue mission. The area was previously known for coal mining, which might have contributed to the formation of the sinkhole. Her 5-year-old granddaughter was found in a car near the sinkhole, indicating that Pollard might have been in the vicinity when the incident occurred.
