VisitSeahawks Trade for Ernest Jones IV, Second Trade in Weeks, Send Baker and Fourth-Round Pick to Titans
Oct 23, 2024, 04:39 PM
The Seattle Seahawks have traded linebacker Jerome Baker and a fourth-round draft pick to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for linebacker Ernest Jones IV, according to multiple reports. This transaction occurs weeks after Jones was initially traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Titans for a 2026 fifth-round pick. The Seahawks aim to address their linebacker issues and improve their run defense, which ranks 22nd in adjusted line yards, by acquiring Jones, who has demonstrated strong coverage with a -7% DVOA this season. Jerome Baker, a seven-year NFL veteran with 23.5 career sacks and five interceptions, was originally drafted in the third round out of Ohio State. He spent his first six seasons with the Miami Dolphins before signing a one-year deal worth up to $7 million with Seattle in March 2024. This season, Baker has recorded 37 tackles and one sack in five games. The Titans receive Baker and a fourth-round pick, adding to their draft capital following recent trades. The Seahawks have been actively attempting to fix their run defense, recently acquiring defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris.
