VisitSeahawks' 27-Year-Old Center Connor Williams Retires for Personal Reasons
Nov 15, 2024, 09:57 PM
Seattle Seahawks starting center Connor Williams has decided to retire from the NFL at the age of 27 for personal reasons, head coach Mike Macdonald announced on Friday, saying, "Connor Williams has decided to retire." Williams, who has started every game this season for Seattle, was initially ruled out for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers due to personal reasons before informing the team of his decision. The abrupt retirement comes as a surprise, as Williams had overcome a major knee injury during his time with the Miami Dolphins before joining the Seahawks. Olu Oluwatimi is expected to take over the starting center position.
