VisitScott Frost Returns as UCF Head Coach After 2017 Undefeated Season
Dec 7, 2024, 10:41 PM
The University of Central Florida (UCF) has reached an agreement in principle to rehire Scott Frost as its next head football coach, according to multiple sources, including a report first published by the Orlando Sentinel. Frost previously led UCF from 2016 to 2017, during which he compiled a 19-7 record and achieved a perfect 13-0 season in 2017, culminating in a victory over Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. He won his last 13 games with the program. After departing UCF, Frost coached at Nebraska from 2018 to 2022, where he recorded a 16-31 record. He replaces Gus Malzahn, whom he previously faced in the 2017 Peach Bowl when Malzahn coached Auburn. Frost's return marks a significant move for UCF as it looks to rebuild after missing a bowl game this season.
