VisitSaudi Arabia Launches 350-Ton Humanitarian Air Bridge to Syria, Joined by Qatar and Kuwait
Jan 1, 2025, 08:21 AM
Saudi Arabia has launched a humanitarian air bridge to Syria, aimed at delivering essential supplies to the country. The initiative, managed by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), involves sending two planes carrying a total of 350 tons of aid, including food, shelter, medical supplies, and fuel. This effort is part of a broader strategy to support Syria in its current crisis, with plans for a subsequent land bridge to follow. The aid is being coordinated with the Syrian Red Crescent for distribution. Additionally, Qatar has also contributed to the relief efforts by sending its first direct aid plane to Damascus, carrying humanitarian and technical assistance to help reopen the airport. Kuwait has similarly dispatched its first aid plane to Syria, carrying 20 tons of humanitarian aid.
