VisitSan Francisco Approves Largest West Side Residential Development with 3,500 Homes
Jul 17, 2024, 12:44 AM
The plan to convert the Stonestown Galleria from a shopping center to an urban neighborhood received its final approvals at the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday. This development will include 3,500 walkable new homes, retail, and open space, making it the largest residential development on San Francisco’s west side in more than 50 years. A City Controller’s report found that if these homes are built, housing prices will decline in San Francisco. The project aims to make San Francisco more affordable and accessible, with the new homes located next to Muni.
