VisitSam Altman Sues Over $27M 'Lemon' Mansion in Russian Hill, Citing Shoddy Construction
Jul 17, 2024, 04:04 PM
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has filed a lawsuit against the developers of his $27 million mansion in San Francisco's Russian Hill, alleging that the property is plagued with numerous construction issues. The lawsuit claims that Altman was misled into purchasing the mansion, which he believed included luxurious features such as an infinity pool and a 'Batcave.' However, the property has reportedly suffered from flooding, a leaky pool, and raw sewage problems. Altman, who bought the mansion four years ago, waived the home inspection before the purchase. The lawsuit suggests that developers and contractors colluded on a cost-cutting scheme, resulting in shoddy construction. Altman's 950 Lombard LLC purchased what was the most expensive home listing in San Francisco history, and the property has also been plagued by coyotes.
