Ryan Routh has been charged with the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Authorities allege that Routh staked out Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, for 12 hours with an AK-47-style rifle and aimed to kill Trump. Routh was arrested as he fled from his sniper’s perch and has been indicted by a federal grand jury. He faces five federal charges and is due to appear in court to enter a plea. Routh plans to plead not guilty.
