VisitRyan Garcia Suspended for One Year, Forfeits $1.1M; Haney's Record Now 31-0
Jun 20, 2024, 09:44 PM
Ryan Garcia has been suspended for one year by the New York State Athletic Commission following positive tests for the performance-enhancing drug ostarine, sources tell ESPN. As part of a settlement agreement, Garcia's decision victory over Devin Haney has been overturned to a no contest. Garcia has also agreed to forfeit his $1.1 million official contract purse, which will go to Golden Boy Promotions, with Devin Haney potentially receiving a percentage, and pay a $10,000 fine, the maximum allowed by the state. This decision restores Haney's undefeated record, now standing at 31-0, while Garcia's record is adjusted to 24-1. Garcia mentioned that he was already retired and plans to come back out of retirement in a year.
