Russian forces conducted drone and missile strikes across Ukraine on Saturday, targeting hospitals and infrastructure, with a significant attack on a medical facility in the border city of Sumy. The initial strike on the hospital was carried out using an Iranian-made Shahed drone, followed by five additional strikes targeting rescuers who arrived at the scene, a tactic designed to maximize casualties. At least seven people were killed and twelve others injured in Sumy, according to regional authorities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that eight people were killed, eleven wounded, and 113 patients were evacuated from the hospital, which held 124 people at the time of the attack. Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities assess the full extent of the casualties. Air defenses managed to down 69 Shahed drones and two missiles during the assault.
