Russian National Arrested in Florida for Smuggling Microelectronic Components with Military Applications

Denis Postovoy, a Russian national residing in Sarasota, Florida, was arrested on September 16 on charges of smuggling, money laundering, and illegally exporting microelectronic components with military applications that could be used in drone production to Russia. The indictment, announced by U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves, accuses Postovoy of violating the Export Control Reform Act and committing smuggling and money laundering. These arrests are part of a broader effort by the multi-agency Disruptive Technology Strike Force to curb illegal exports. The State Department has been asked to provide information on Postovoy.
