VisitRussian MPs Broaden 'Undesirable Organizations' Law in Final Reading
Jul 24, 2024, 07:51 AM
Russian MPs have voted to broaden the 'undesirable organizations' law, allowing the designation to apply to any groups with foreign states' participation, including domestic entities. The State Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament, approved the legislation in its second and third readings, with the final reading adopted. This move will enable police officers to decide on the deportation of foreigners and stateless citizens, Russian state-owned news agency TASS reported. The current rules only recognize the activities of foreign NGOs as undesirable in Russia.
