VisitRussian Military Foils Ukrainian Attempts to Seize Kursk and Zaporozhye Nuclear Plants, HIMARS Involved
Nov 5, 2024, 12:37 PM
The Russian Defense Ministry has reported that Ukrainian forces attempted to seize the Kursk nuclear power plant, with plans involving 20,000 troops, 27 tanks, and 5 MLRS. The objective was to expose Russian territory to radioactive contamination in the event of an accident. Additionally, Russian officials have thwarted another attempt by Ukrainian forces to capture the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The Ukrainian forces intended to use HIMARS missile systems and drone strike systems in the operation, according to Yevgeny Balitsky, the governor of the Zaporozhye region. Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov noted that a large-scale accident at the Kursk plant could spread radiation over a significant part of Europe.
