VisitRussian Forces Repel Incursion by 300 Ukrainian Fighters, 11 Tanks in Kursk Region

Russian forces have repelled a significant Ukrainian incursion into the Kursk region. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, up to 300 Ukrainian fighters, supported by 11 tanks and over 20 armored vehicles, launched an attack on Russian positions near Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnya. The attack, which began at 8:00 AM Moscow time, was met with resistance from Russian servicemen and border troops. Russian forces have also reported deploying reserves to the area to counter the offensive. The incursion resulted in civilian casualties, with at least two civilians killed and several others, including children, injured. Additionally, Ukrainian forces reportedly advanced several hundred meters into Russian territory, with clashes occurring in multiple segments of the border, including Sudzha and Korenevo. Air defense systems destroyed at least 26 Ukrainian-launched drones overnight.
