Russian forces have launched a significant counteroffensive in the Kursk region, reclaiming substantial territory from Ukrainian troops. Reports indicate that Russian forces have recaptured approximately 125 square kilometers and 8 villages, including the important town of Snagost and the Korenevo forest. The counteroffensive, which began overnight, has seen Russian troops pushing back Ukrainian forces and capturing several settlements. Russian fighters have liberated about 10 settlements, including positions on the western flank. Apti Alaudinov, the commander of Akhmat, confirmed the advances. The operation marks Russia's first significant effort in more than five weeks since the start of Kyiv's incursion into the region.
