VisitRussian Forces, Led by 74th Brigade, Take Control of Shevchenko Village in Donetsk

Russian forces have taken control of the village of Shevchenko in the Donetsk People's Republic, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The ministry reported that operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile forces, and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces struck military airfield infrastructure, energy facilities supporting Ukrainian military and defense industry operations, and concentrations of enemy personnel and equipment in 146 areas. Additionally, Russian air defense systems destroyed five HIMARS rockets and 181 drones. The Defense Minister, Andrei Belousov, congratulated the military personnel of the 74th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade for their successful operation in taking control of Shevchenko, commending their dedication to their military duties. The ministry also reported that overnight on January 11, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 85 Ukrainian drones across various regions, including 31 over the Black Sea, 16 over Voronezh and Krasnodar regions, 14 over the Sea of Azov, four over Belgorod region, two over Tambov region, and one each over Crimea and Kursk region.
