On June 22, 2024, a Russian aerial bomb attack struck a residential building in Kharkiv, Ukraine, causing significant casualties. The attack killed at least three people and injured 56 others, including two children. The bombing led to the collapse of part of the building's wall, destroying apartments on at least three floors and causing an emergency structural failure during debris clearing. Local authorities, including Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov, confirmed the casualties and the extent of the damage. Public transport stops were also damaged. Rescue operations are ongoing as people may still be trapped under the rubble. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for more help from Kyiv’s allies in response to the attack.
