Nov 19, 2024, 02:36 PM
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has reiterated Russia's commitment to preventing nuclear war amidst escalating tensions with Ukraine. Lavrov emphasized that Russia does not want to see a nuclear war and is strongly in favor of doing everything to prevent it. This statement, made during the G20 summit, comes in response to Ukraine receiving US authorization to strike inside Russia using long-range missiles. Russia's MFA issued a statement warning that such actions would be considered a new phase of the Western war against Moscow and would prompt an appropriate response from Russia.
