VisitRussia Launches Record 188 Drones; Ukraine Shoots Down 76 in Largest Attack
Nov 26, 2024, 09:13 AM
Ukraine's Air Force reported that Russia launched a record 188 drones, including Iranian-made Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles, in overnight attacks on November 25-26, marking the largest drone assault since the beginning of the conflict. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 76 drones, while an additional 95 drones were lost due to electronic warfare measures. One drone reportedly flew back to Belarus. Despite these efforts, some drones evaded defenses, causing damage to residential buildings and critical infrastructure, including power outages in Ternopil and damage near Kyiv. Russia also launched four Iskander-M ballistic missiles, none of which were intercepted. The intensified drone and missile campaign comes as winter sets in, expanding Russia's long-range attacks against Ukrainian infrastructure.
