Nov 17, 2024, 07:09 AM
Russia has launched one of its largest aerial attacks on Ukraine overnight, deploying every type of missile in an assault aimed at making Ukrainian cities unlivable during arctic winter temperatures. The attack targeted critical energy infrastructure and sleeping civilians with approximately 120 missiles and 90 drones, as confirmed by Ukraine's Energy Minister Herman Halushenko and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. Electricity generation and transmission facilities, thermal power plants, and railway infrastructure have been severely damaged across the country. Emergency power outages have been implemented throughout Ukraine, including in Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Odessa, where water supply and heating have also been cut off.
