VisitRussia Launches Largest Missile Attack on Ukraine After Scholz, Trump's Peace Talks
Nov 17, 2024, 11:11 AM
Russian forces launched a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine overnight, targeting civilian energy infrastructure across all regions. The assault involved around 120 missiles and nearly 100 drones, resulting in at least two civilian deaths. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the attack was an attempt by Russia to freeze Ukrainians into submission. In response to the attack, Ukrainian F-16 jets were deployed, successfully shooting down about 10 air targets. This escalation comes after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and former U.S. President Donald Trump both called Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging him not to escalate the conflict. Putin's response was to launch the largest missile attack of the war, seemingly mocking the peace efforts.
