Russia Attacks Ukraine with 132 Shahed Drones; Kyiv's Air Raid Lasts Over 5 Hours

Russian forces conducted drone attacks on Kyiv and other regions in Ukraine, utilizing Iranian-made Shahed-136 (Geran-2) kamikaze drones. Air raid sirens sounded in Kyiv as explosions were heard, and Ukrainian air defense systems were activated to intercept the incoming drones. The air raid alert in the capital lasted over five hours. The attacks occurred over several days, with reports of drones flying in swarm formations over the Poltava region. Some drones were intercepted and shot down by Ukrainian defenses, including a Mi-24 helicopter. In Kherson, Russian drones targeted civilians, injuring five people who were hospitalized with explosive injuries and contusions. The attacks involved a significant number of drones, with one report mentioning that 132 Iranian-made Shahed drones were launched against Ukrainian cities. Debris from intercepted missiles caused damage in Odesa, affecting a three-story building and over ten private houses.
