RSF Drone Attack on Saudi Hospital in Sudan's Darfur Kills 70, Injures 19
Jan 25, 2025, 08:40 PM
A drone attack on the Saudi Hospital in El Fasher, one of the last functioning hospitals in Sudan's Darfur region, has resulted in the deaths of at least 70 people and injured 19 others. The attack, which occurred on Friday evening, destroyed the hospital's emergency building. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group, have been accused of carrying out the strike. The hospital was previously hit by an RSF drone a few weeks ago. The conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF, ongoing since April 2023, has led to widespread devastation in Darfur, with the RSF controlling nearly the entire region and besieging El Fasher since May. The United Nations has called for the protection of civilians in the area, which is home to approximately two million people.
