VisitRomania Calls for NATO Response to Russian Drone and Missile Airspace Violations
Sep 18, 2024, 11:34 AM
Romania has called for a robust and coordinated NATO response to recent violations of NATO airspace by Russian drones and missiles. Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tilvar emphasized the need for NATO to react to these incursions, which have also been reported by Latvia. Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans described the airspace violations as 'unacceptable and dangerous,' urging for immediate interception of such threats. Defense ministers from nine eastern European nations have collectively urged NATO to prepare a response to the increasing number of airspace violations by Russia. These incidents, reported in early September, were discussed during a NATO meeting in Bucharest.
