VisitRoblox Enhances Parental Controls: Parents Can Link Accounts, Under-13s Blocked from Messaging Outside Games
Nov 18, 2024, 03:11 PM
Roblox, the popular gaming platform, has announced significant updates to its safety systems and parental controls aimed at protecting users under the age of 13. Starting this week, users under 13 can no longer message others outside of games, and beginning in 2025, they will need parental permission to chat within games. The new features also allow parents to link their accounts with their child's account, remotely manage communication settings, set screen time and spending limits, and control the types of content accessible by choosing the maturity level appropriate for their children. Users under 13 are automatically barred from accessing moderate content on the platform. Matt Kaufman, Roblox’s chief safety officer, stated that these updates should provide parents greater clarity to make informed decisions about what is appropriate for their child.
