Rivian Unveils Second-Gen R1T and R1S with 2.5s 0-60 mph Time and 420 Miles Range

Rivian has introduced the second generation of its R1T and R1S electric vehicles, featuring significant performance and design upgrades. The new R1T pickup truck now boasts a 0-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds, beating the Cybertruck's 2.6 seconds. Both models are equipped with a new quad-motor producing 1,025 horsepower, new drive units, and updated exterior lighting with adaptive features. The vehicles also feature Nvidia's AI chips for improved processing speeds and enhanced camera fidelity. The range has been extended to up to 420 miles with the max pack. The starting prices are $75,900 for the R1S and $69,900 for the R1T. The new UI, smoother suspension, and new wheels and tires are also part of the upgrades. Rivian aims to entice new buyers ahead of the launch of the cheaper R2 model in 2026.
