Sep 6, 2024, 01:05 PM
The Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) has secured a $40 million, 5-year federal grant to enhance literacy efforts across the state. The grant will support the expansion of the science of reading and high-quality instructional materials, which are already considered a model among peer states. The Office of Instruction, Assessment & Curriculum played a key role in securing the grant. Representative Gabe Amo emphasized that the grant will ensure that every child in Rhode Island, regardless of their background or grade level, will have access to lifelong reading comprehension skills.
