VisitRFU Signs £100 Million Deal to Rename Twickenham as Allianz Stadium from September 2024
Aug 5, 2024, 04:58 PM
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has signed a landmark sponsorship deal with Allianz, resulting in the renaming of Twickenham Stadium to Allianz Stadium starting from September 2024. This agreement includes naming rights and is expected to generate significant revenue for the RFU, estimated at £100 million over ten years, or £7 million a year. The deal marks a historic change for the 82,000-seat home of English rugby, which has been known as Twickenham for over 100 years. The first test match at the newly named Allianz Stadium will be the Red Roses versus Black Ferns on September 14th. Allianz's investment will also support the community game at all levels.
