VisitRFK Jr. Wins Appeals to Remove Name from Ballots in North Carolina, Michigan, and Wisconsin
Sep 6, 2024, 03:56 PM
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has filed lawsuits in North Carolina, Michigan, and Wisconsin to have his name removed from the presidential ballots in these states. In North Carolina, Kennedy's request to remove his name was initially denied by a judge, but an appellate court later halted the mailing of absentee ballots and ordered his name to be removed. The North Carolina Board of Elections had been instructed to halt the sending of ballots. Similarly, in Michigan, a judge initially ruled that Kennedy must remain on the ballot, but the Michigan Court of Appeals later granted his request to have his name removed. Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson had refused to take his name off the ballot. Kennedy's legal actions follow his decision to suspend his campaign in ten swing states to boost Donald Trump's chances in the 2024 presidential election. The North Carolina and Michigan courts' decisions have caused delays in the distribution of ballots in these battleground states.
