RFK Jr.'s Lawyer Seeks Revocation of Polio Vaccine Approval, Citing Safety Concerns

Aaron Siri, a lawyer assisting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in selecting federal health officials for the incoming Trump administration, has petitioned the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to revoke its approval of the polio vaccine. This action is part of a wider campaign against vaccines, where Siri has also challenged and in some cases quashed Covid vaccine mandates, sued federal agencies for vaccine-related records, and subjected vaccine scientists to extensive depositions. His efforts are largely on behalf of the Informed Consent Action Network, a nonprofit advocating for medical freedom. Despite Kennedy's statements that he does not intend to remove access to vaccines, his collaboration with Siri suggests a potential sharp scrutiny of vaccine policy. Siri has also filed to pause distribution of 13 other vaccines, including the hepatitis B vaccine, citing concerns over the safety of aluminum in vaccines and the lack of double-blind randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for these vaccines. This raises concerns among public health experts about the implications for vaccine-preventable diseases.
