Jan 13, 2025, 01:10 PM
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc., in collaboration with Truveta and leading U.S. health systems, has launched the Truveta Genome Project, aiming to create the world's largest and most diverse database of genomic and clinical data. This initiative, supported by a $320 million investment, will involve sequencing the exomes of up to 10 million consented and de-identified volunteers. The project is designed to enhance drug discovery, optimize clinical trials, and improve healthcare delivery by providing a comprehensive dataset that reflects a wide range of ancestries, ethnicities, and social drivers of health. Microsoft Azure will serve as the exclusive cloud provider for this project, facilitating the integration and analysis of the data. Regeneron has invested $119.5 million in Truveta's Series C financing, and Illumina is also involved in the project.
