Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran has been suspended for two games after he was caught on a hot mic using a homophobic slur directed at a fan during Sunday's 10-2 loss against the Houston Astros at Fenway Park. The incident occurred in the bottom of the sixth inning with the Red Sox trailing 10-0. Duran issued an apology through the team, expressing regret for his actions and acknowledging the offense caused to the LGBTQ community. The Red Sox have announced that Duran's salary from the suspension will be donated to PFLAG, a support organization for the LGBTQ community.
