Jul 25, 2024, 05:06 AM
Rebel forces in Myanmar have achieved significant victories against the junta, capturing key strategic locations. The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) announced the full capture of Mogok, a town rich in precious minerals and strategically located in the Mandalay region. Additionally, the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) has seized the 507th Battalion base and the Northeastern Command in Lashio, northern Shan state. Reports indicate that 300 junta soldiers surrendered to MNDAA in Lashio, where heavy fighting continues. Lashio, with a population of 144,000, saw Kokang forces raising their flag at the captured base. These developments mark a turning point in the conflict, with the resistance gaining substantial ground and firepower against the junta.
