The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has relocated 102 tonnes of gold from the Bank of England to India, increasing the domestic gold reserves to 60%. This move, announced on Dhanteras 2024, is aimed at enhancing the security of India's gold reserves amid global economic uncertainty. Since September 2022, India has repatriated a total of 214 tonnes of gold. The repatriation of gold is part of the Modi government's efforts to strengthen the country's financial stability and bring back the glory of India's gold reserves. The operation has been described as RBI's secret mission.
