VisitRavens Waive WR Diontae Johnson After Unproductive Tenure
Dec 20, 2024, 09:04 PM
Diontae Johnson's turbulent year continued as the Baltimore Ravens waived the wide receiver, concluding his short stint with the team. Johnson began 2024 with the Pittsburgh Steelers before being traded to the Carolina Panthers on March 12. On October 29, the Ravens acquired him from the Panthers. However, his time in Baltimore was unproductive, with Johnson appearing in four games and making just one catch for six yards over 39 snaps. Johnson was excused from team activities this week prior to his release. He is now subject to waivers until Monday at 4:00 PM ET, presenting a low-cost option for teams due to his minimum salary. If unclaimed, he will become a free agent in March. Johnson was previously projected to be a top-25 free agent before his recent setbacks.
