Rapper Lil Durk Arrested in Murder-for-Hire Plot Over King Von's Killing

Chicago rapper Lil Durk, 32, whose real name is Durk Devontay Banks, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Broward County, Florida, on Thursday on federal murder-for-hire charges. Authorities allege that Lil Durk orchestrated a plot targeting rapper Quando Rondo in retaliation for the 2020 killing of King Von, an emerging Chicago rapper and associate of Lil Durk. Five men from Chicago have also been charged in California with being contracted to kill Quando Rondo, which resulted in the death of his cousin, Lul Pab, in Los Angeles in August 2022. Quando Rondo was present during the shooting but was uninjured. Lil Durk is being held without bond and could face life imprisonment or the death penalty if convicted.
