Jan 24, 2025, 03:42 PM
The Las Vegas Raiders have hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach, according to multiple reports on January 24, 2025. Carroll, who previously coached the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl XLVIII victory and ten playoff appearances, agreed to a three-year contract with a fourth-year team option. He has a career record of 170-120-1 and won four divisional titles with the Seahawks, making back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 2013 and 2014. At 73, Carroll will become the oldest head coach in NFL history when he coaches his first game for the Raiders. This marks the first major move for the Raiders under the ownership era of Tom Brady. Carroll replaces Antonio Pierce, who was fired on January 7 after just one full season as head coach.
