VisitRaiders Fire Head Coach Antonio Pierce After 4-13 Season
Jan 7, 2025, 08:41 PM
Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis has fired head coach Antonio Pierce after a disappointing 4-13 season that included a 10-game losing streak. Pierce, who was appointed as interim head coach in 2023 after the firing of Josh McDaniels, became the full-time head coach but was unable to turn around the team's fortunes, marking the first time the Raiders went winless against AFC West opponents since 2006. Despite support from several players, Davis decided to part ways with Pierce following a meeting on Tuesday. New minority owner Tom Brady has been advising Davis and is expected to help chart a new path forward. The organization is expected to seek a high-profile replacement, with Davis willing to spend top dollar on the best available coach if necessary. This marks the seventh head coaching change for the Raiders in the past 10 years and the sixth under Davis's 13-year ownership.
