VisitRabbi Zvi Kogan Murdered in UAE Antisemitic Attack; Israel Vows Justice
Nov 24, 2024, 07:33 AM
Israeli authorities have confirmed the death of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Chabad emissary in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, who had been missing since Thursday, November 21, 2024. Kogan's body was found on Sunday following a joint investigation by Israeli and Emirati security forces. His car was discovered abandoned in Al Ain, approximately 150 km from Abu Dhabi, with signs of a struggle. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office stated that Kogan, an Israeli-Moldovan dual citizen, was murdered in a heinous antisemitic terrorist act and vowed to bring those responsible to justice. Reports suggest that he was abducted and killed by an Uzbek terror cell linked to Iran, which has since fled the UAE to Turkey. Kogan was the nephew of Rabbi Gavriel Holzberg, who was murdered in the 2008 attack on the Mumbai Chabad House.
