VisitPutin Threatens Kyiv with Unstoppable 'Oreshnik' Missiles Comparable to Nuclear Weapons
Nov 28, 2024, 10:48 AM
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on November 28 that Russia has begun mass production of its new 'Oreshnik' ballistic missiles, which he claims are unstoppable and have no equivalent worldwide. Speaking at a meeting, Putin warned that Russia may target decision-making centers in Kyiv with these missiles if Ukraine continues its attacks on Russian territory using Western-supplied long-range missiles, such as the ATACMS. He stated that the Russian General Staff and Ministry of Defense are currently selecting targets in Ukraine for Oreshnik missile strikes. Putin asserted that in the event of a massive strike using 'Oreshnik' missiles, the impact would be comparable to that of nuclear weapons, though they are not weapons of mass destruction. He emphasized that there is currently no way in the world to stop the Oreshnik missiles. Putin also highlighted that Russia's production of advanced missile systems surpasses that of all NATO countries combined by a factor of ten and is set to increase by 25-30% next year. He stated that Russia was forced to use the Oreshnik in response to enemy actions. In response to recent attacks, Russia conducted strikes on Ukraine overnight using 90 missiles and 100 drones, hitting 17 military facilities. Putin reiterated that allowing Ukraine to launch long-range missile strikes signifies direct involvement of the West in the conflict.
