VisitPutin Orders 133,000 Men Aged 18-30 for Autumn-Winter Military Conscription
Sep 30, 2024, 11:31 AM
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to initiate the routine autumn-winter conscription campaign, aiming to draft 133,000 men aged 18 to 30 into the Russian army. The conscription will begin on October 1 and continue until the end of the year. This campaign follows a new law that raises the conscription age from 27 to 30. The conscription is part of Russia's routine military service and is expected to target unemployed young men. This move comes amid escalating military losses, which have reportedly exceeded 650,000. The Russian military will have conscripted a total of 283,000 soldiers by the end of 2024, including the 150,000 drafted in the spring. According to the General Staff, this year's conscription is three thousand more than last fall.
