Sebastian Rivera, representing Puerto Rico, secured a bronze medal in the men's freestyle wrestling 65kg category at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Rivera, who has ties to New Jersey and has wrestled at Northwestern and Rutgers, achieved this feat with a dramatic last-second takedown against Tulga Tumur-Ochir of Mongolia, winning the match 10-9. This victory marks Puerto Rico's first wrestling medal since the London 2012 Olympics. Rivera celebrated his win with coach Jeff Buxton. Earlier in the competition, Rivera defeated Maxim Sacultan of Moldova 15-4 to reach the bronze-medal match.
