Protesters Attack US, France, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya Embassies in Kinshasa Over M23 Rebels' Capture of Goma, Alleging US Financing of Rwanda

Protesters in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, have attacked and set fire to several embassies, including those of the United States, France, Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya. The demonstrations are a response to the recent capture of Goma by the M23 rebels, who are accused of being supported by Rwanda. The protesters have accused Western countries, particularly the US, of financing Rwanda's backing of the M23 rebels. The unrest has led to significant disruptions in Kinshasa, with burning tires blocking roads and schools closed. The French embassy reported no intrusion despite the fires, and the personnel are safe with the GIGN on site. The Ugandan embassy was also ransacked and looted. The Congolese government has confirmed the presence of M23 rebels in Goma, escalating tensions between Congo and Rwanda.
